A hidden french gem that is a miss if you dont look. It does feel and smell very old school french (and yes, I have been to France). The escargot was buttery and tender. The duck was crisp. And the wine was very generous. Support this local joint, even if you are unfamiliar with the cuisine. Especially for restaurant week.

The waiter was friendly and welcoming. The food was good to me but lacked depth for me. I had the chicken ( pictured below), but my husband loved his rabbit.

I had visited a long time ago and it was really good. Returned recently and had a mediocre experience. My best friend and I went for lunch. Their were not a lot of diners so it was a quiet experience. The service from greeting to table was very warm and welcoming. Our lunch service was superb. The salad was very fresh with a delicious house made dressing. The mains were the issue - I ordered Coq Au Vin à L'ancienne and was extremely disappointed. The chicken was dry and tough which it should not be if cooked properly. This comes with pasta which was overcooked and basically mush. Not appetizing at all. I asked to replace this with Chicken Piccata which was definitely better. We ordered desserts to go and when I tried the Tarte a Citron Vert, it was mediocre at best. I grew up in Europe and was not expecting a European dining experience but I did expect better from a longstanding restaurant with a decent reputation. Overall disappointed.

One of the best restaurants in Houston without a doubt. While we have a great amount of joints in town that have delicious food, they lack charm. Bistro Le Cep does not lack an ounce of charm; from the atmosphere to the food to every member of the service team, you can feel the passion and soul flow throughout. I have been here several times over the past decade and was fortunate enough to dine here on New Year’s Eve with my father. Can’t wait to come back soon!

Very traditional and cozy set up. Atmosphere was very quiet with patrons able to enjoy soft conversations. Limited menu options and priced a little more than what i expected. Professional and experienced servers with good service.

Fabulous food, nice, quiet, relaxing atmosphere. Had the evening special which consisted of a lamb chop, pork medallions, and bacon-wrapped quail. All were delicious, the pig especially. Wife and I split the smoked salmon salad - amazing. No room for the key lime pie, will have to go back.

Went here for my birthday dinner. I had a small group or 6 and we reserved ahead of time. The staff was very accommodating for one of the guests visiting who brought a baby. They sat us at a square table which allowed for intimate conversations and fellowship without feeling overcrowded. The waiter was extremely knowledgeable and friendly about the dishes offered and I chose to get the special of the day. I got an appetizer of escargots to start and we all dined on the bread and paté offered. Then came the main course and everyone enjoyed what they had, my mother even left saying the portions left her full but not too full and we talked about the wonderful culinary experience for hours after. Highly recommend. It is a must visit for Houstonians.
