While both a.kitchen and a.bar are amazing, this review is for the bar. The bar strikes the perfect balance of feeling upscale and nice while still being relaxed and casual once you sit down. It's a cozy and intimate setting perfect for a thoughtful and inventive cocktail. The menus change frequently; once I had my menu replaced mid-service so that the cocktail options could be updated!

This trip I simply had a glass of chardonnay which was great, and ordered the chilled zucchini soup with crab. It was perfect for a light and refreshing summer evening and was delicious. I'd definitely recommend any of the small plates (the full kitchen menu is available from the bar), but tonight I found the soup to be just right.

Stopped in for brunch during a holiday visit to PHL. A Kitchen is cozy and the food was excellent. I had the wagyu steak frites (with egg) and a biscuit - it was as good as it looks - see photo.

Both experiences I had here were subpar. I feel like there’s some potential but it’s clearly not realized I won’t be back. The first experience was a terrible take out experience- my order was ready for pickup so I came to get it but the staff said it wasn’t. I sat there waiting at the bar for almost 30 minutes, while my food, which had I guess been misplaced, sat over on a hook on the wall. I finally got it when I said I needed to leave and if it wasn’t in the works I’d need to cancel my order. The food was pretty awful. Hamburger patties overly salty, the little breads filled with cheese tasted pre frozen, the potato wedges were terrible. I’m not sure how you mess up a potato wedge but they did. The second time I ate in the restaurant and ordered the steak frites. Again, horrible potato wedges, but the worst part was that the steak was so tough, all the way through, it was nearly inedible. Really all around disappointing.

I stumbled upon this place while on a business trip. I was looking to eat something with a lot of vegetables and this place did not disappoint. We were immediately seated outside which was really lovely with the warm weather.

Our server was incredibly sweet and walked us through the menu and explained all of the vegetarian dishes that were available for me to get. I ended up having this amazing dish that was a tomato based chutney with asparagus, artichoke, peas, radish and a sauce sprinkled on top. All the vegetables were incredibly fresh and the dish was delicious.

Lived in Rittenhouse my entire life an had never been here until tonight. EXCELLENT food. Top notch service from all but especially Jed our server. He was patient and well informed about the menu. All his recommendations were spot on. Great drinks. A wonderful dining experience, a great, intimate & sexy atmosphere. I had the Half Chicken and it was THE BEST I’ve had in years. They even offered us a free Little Green Salad (I think that’s how it’s called) because we were on the fence about it. It was wonderful. The cheese balls (first item on the menu) were spectacular. Great burger. Can’t go wrong here! I don’t know why it took me so long to dine here but I will be returning. 10/10.

Had multiple dishes including chicken liver on toast, half chicken, fish with romaine, and muscles with lemon grass. The muscles were transcnendeal. Wine list and bottle list were very impressive and enjoyed.

Really great starters and cocktails (mezcal and aged rum with kiwi were the stand outs). Mains were solid! Little heavy on the flavor, but fun. Same with deserts (one was like a flan and the other was like a chocolate mousse with anise powder on top of the fresh whipped cream).

Very nice, cozy space with excellent offerings and execution. Great cocktails, as well.
