The food was okay, but it was not worth a nearly-40 minute wait or the $111.00 bill for two adults and three kids to eat breakfast.

We visited on a Saturday around 9 a.m., and it was slow. It picked up around the time our order went in, but that did not seem to explain the extended wait time.

The service was good - our coffee, tea, and hot chocolate cups were kept full.

My party ordered pancakes with bacon and eggs; French toast with bacon, sausage, and eggs; and three different omelets; biscuits and gravy, and German potatoes.

All party members reported the food tasting good - thick, fluffy pancakes; soft, pillowy French toast; tasty omelets, crispy bacon and sausage, crispy German potatoes, and biscuits smothered in thick gravy.

It might be worth it to eat here on a different day or time, but today was frustrating.

Directly across from Kaiser and near I-10. Dollar Tree, Rite Aid, Donuts, Starbucks, ARCO, BOA nearby just to name a few. Taco Salad was great and Club was spot on. Great homestyle food. We will be back. Updated menu.

The service was pretty speedily from the point of arrival to the point of being served and leaving. Considering I was pressed for time that day. Can't or shouldn't complain. I ordered their special for rhe Month of November which was their Turkey ? Dinner Special for limited time. Came with Turkey served on top of stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, steamed vegetables cranberry sauce along with buttered bread and choice of soup or salad along with piece of their scrumptious pumpkin ? pie?

My hubby and I split a meal. The waiter asked if we wanted to split it into two plates ourselves or have hem do it in the kitchen. Period. No mention of an extra charge for them to do so. We said sure, let the cook do it. When we got the check there was a $2 charge. We complained to the manager who pointed out the small note at the bottom of the menu. The note said the $2 charge for slitting a plate is effective December 2024! It was June 2024! I pointed that out to the manager who rudely replied it was the menu printer’s error and that if he did that for free he would be “losing money”!. Then he slapped a five dollar bill on the counter “for our trouble”! No apology. We cannot be bought off. We will never go back.

Got the chili cheese fries. Very good for an old fashioned diner spot. Alondra was awesome and made sure we were taken care of. Will be back for a slice of cherry pie!

My mom & I have been eating there for almost 50 years, way before the current owner bought it, we have always had a good experience until today, I ordered menudo with no pata, they brought me a bowl with two patas in the bowl, when I told the waiter I didn't order pata he apologize and said not to worry, I removed the patas and showed him I only had a half of a bowl now ? And at 16.99 a bowl I felt it wasn't right for them to charge me full price, so now the owner comes over with a mean look on his face and tells me he's not gonna charge me for the patas ? So I told him what about the half of a bowl of menudo ? Am I going to pay full price for half of a bowl ? And he said he's not charging me for the patas ! So I said I didn't order them and I didn't eat them so why would you ? But I only had a half of a bowl after I removed them and with a smug look he's said he's not gonna deduct anything for that ? So in my opinion after eating there for so many years I'm not going there anymore because the customer should be the higher priority not the owners pockets ? See you later Billy Js restaurant ?

Food was good, cooked to perfection, tender and tasty. The shrimp were golden brown and tender not overcooked, the steak was ordered well some and was also tender and juicy. The grilled chicken on top of the salad was also tender and juicy and flavorful. Will go back.

We went for dinner, it was very nice. We had a great server, and the food came fast. We order Billy J's grilled chicken salad everything was very fresh and delicious, we also ordered country fried steak and mash potatoes, it was perfect.
