When you enter you are greeted by friendly staff and several whiteboards with a huge variety of burgers, and even milkshakes. There are standard meal combinations as well.
The only downside for me was the cluttered atmosphere. It was bad, per se, just felt very compact.
Good food, friendly staff, and a decent atmosphere. I would recommend

Not only was this the juicest, most delicious burger ever.. but the staff and ambiance were excellent. Their milkshakes are fresh and yummy, and their staff is incredibly hospitable. With the country music playing, the hospitality, and the delicious food, I really felt like I was in the south. Annabelle and Cassie were awesome and patient, and every other staff member that we interacted with met this same standard. The very best. I will be returning if I am in Roanoke.

Five stars all the way around size of the burger I could barely finish it flavor just phenomenal if you have not been here it's a must that you go you will not be disappointed I have driven past this place many of times now I'm kicking myself in the butt because I didn't stop sooner and get me a burger best burger in Roanoke

First and last time visiting. Everyone says such great things and we were finally able to try the food. Burger patties are thin and flavorless. They forgot my cheese. I know it was busy so that was an understandable mistake. What wasn’t understandable was why they’d serve us burnt onion rings (bacon on my burger was burnt too) and stale hard fries. Hopefully it was just my family’s food because it was disappointing to say the least. Will not come back.

Food was incredibly overpriced…2 hots dogs with fries and a drink, 1 chicken sandwich with fries and a drink, and a kids chicken nugget meal with a handful of fries and a drink was over $30!
The hotdogs were greasy, the chicken sandwich was fried in the same oil as FISH and tasted like salmon plus it was supposed to come with mayo and tomato…two THIN tiny slices of tomato and so little mayo I thought they had forgotten it then finally got one bite. The nuggets and all the orders of waffle fries were good at least. The staff was a bunch of young people who seemed less than friendly and sorta spaced out.

Was visiting and decided to take my son to Burger In the Square. Haven’t been there since it was in the market in my younger days. My son and I enjoyed our food and customer service. Can’t wait to visit again next time in town.

It’s a top burger place in my book! If you have a chance to go, do yourself a favor and just go. Their shakes, burgers and fries all smack! 10/10 recommend

Burger on the Square has a convenient location on Brambleton Ave, with some waiting to get back into Brambleton traffic at busy times of the day. I placed a pick-up order by phone, and the order was ready and hot upon my arrival. The chili for the taco salad was outstanding, not too spicy, and very flavorful. The salad items were crisp and fresh. The pulled pork was also delicious, but the "on the side" sweet BBQ sauce was not included. The hush puppies were good, and butter was included. The baked beans were average, with no additions to enhance the flavor out of the can. Very personable and friendly staff, I recommend Burger for pick up or a quick bite. There is ample seating in a pleasant atmosphere for dining. Wheelchair accessible entrance, but I don't know about accessibility in the restrooms. Good place for children or family dining. Prices are reasonable.

Back to Burger in the Square after over a year! Didn't realize the order was the same as before, but it is great for comparison. The ingredients in the taco salad, (lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, cheddar cheese, sour cream and salsa on the side) were very fresh and crisp, and the chili is seasoned well, but not too spicy and very tasty. Hush puppies were pretty basic but enhanced with honey butter! The star of the order were the baked beans. At the last visit, the beans were flat tasting, like just out of the can. These beans were nicely seasoned, rich with beans, onions, peppers, and flavorful seasonings. They were sweet with a tad of BBQ flavor and very good! The pulled pork sandwich was large, on a soft bun, with cole slaw. The surprise was the use of the commercial Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce on the side. I was surprised it was not made in house, but the sweet flavor was perfect for this sandwich. I ordered by phone for pick up, and the order was hot and ready at my arrival. Staff were efficient and friendly, and the order was correct. Overall, it was a very delicious meal!
