Walked past Hugo’s a few times and always intrigued by the queue (there’s always a queue). Got myself a chicken sandwich - fresh, crispy chicken between two slices of soft fluffy shokupan bread. It was great - would go again whenever the line is not too long. Lovely service but note the limited seats available if you’re planning to eat there.

Stopped here for a quick sandwich whilst on the go. Very tasty Ruben sandwich. Fresh ingredients and exceptional toasted bread. According to staff, the most popular is the Fried Chicken, which i will try next time.

Hugo's Deli exudes warmth and flavor in every bite. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the aroma of freshly toasted bread and savory meats, setting the stage for a culinary adventure.

The menu boasts an impressive array of sandwiches, salads, and sides, each crafted with care and attention to detail. Whether you're in the mood for a classic Reuben or craving something more adventurous like the Turkey Pesto Panini, Hugo's has something to satisfy every palate.

What truly sets Hugo's apart is the quality of their ingredients. Locally sourced produce and meats ensure that each dish is bursting with freshness and flavor. And let's not forget their homemade sauces and dressings, which elevate every bite to new heights of deliciousness.

But it's not just the food that keeps me coming back to Hugo's. The friendly staff always greets me with a smile and makes me feel like family with their attentive service. Whether I'm dining in or grabbing a quick bite to go, I know I'll be treated to a memorable experience every time.

In a world filled with fast food chains and cookie-cutter eateries, Hugo's Deli stands out as a beacon of authenticity and quality. If you haven't had the pleasure of dining here yet, do yourself a favor and pay them a visit. You won't be disappointed!

40 minute wait for their steak sandwich on their birthday. $24 for a pretty decent size but the more I ate it the more I was disappointed in it. Coffee was good.

Their sandwiches are alright but I've had better. We ordered their famous chicken sandwich but the chicken lacks taste. 4 cheese sandwich tastes what you expect it. The coffee though tastes amazing.

Ordered:
? Fried Chicken Sandwich ($16.50)
Shokupan bread, fried chicken, shredded lettuce, Hugo’s sauce, pickles ?

Review: 9/10 ⭐️ simple yet so good

? absolutely worth a visit!! This chicken sandwich has a mix of simple and classic flavours. The Hugo’s sauce is like a maccas fillet o fish vibes, the chicken is tender and fried perfectly, and the bread is a soft Japanese shokupan - so good, the thin pickles adds a tangy and delicious taste. I’d rate it 9/10, -1 point for the wait time and slightly higher price, but that’s the average price for a sandwich in Melbourne these days!!! ?

Advertising Vs. Reality Alert.

One is a beautifully taken photo on their website showing a succulent looking sandwich. The other is what actually was made.

When looking at other photos on google reviews you can see a lot of sandwiches matching the website. Unfortunately ours purchased on 04/04 were not.

This one in the picture cost $16.50.

Tasted absolutely fine but the disappointment of being duped a little left a sour taste.

We travelled a bit of a distance too after hearing such rave endorsements on social media. Disappointing is an understatement.
