We have a new "place!" We had an excellent experience here. Everything was fantastic, and the manager was energetic to make sure we had a great time. He was even attentive to how a door hinge worked, got us extra chips, and opened the door for other guests. We visited on a Sunday afternoon at their peak hours, and we had three people attend to our table other than him (drinks, food, and service), and did not need to wait long for anything. The atmosphere was top-notch, becoming of a place I would bring an out-of-town guest. Lots of TVs for sports, and my margarita was so fresh and so good! Prices were decent, and our burritos were packed with meat!

Placed a to go order for lunch and was impressed right away with the hospitality and customer service over the phone, so much so that I decided to come in and eat. They changed my existing to go order to dine in with no issue and I was seated right away. I was impressed with the interior design. It’s so beautiful and clean inside. My food came out in a reasonable time and was nicely plated. The portion is significant in regard to the price. The customer service is just as excellent in person as it is on the phone. I will be returning.

I have nothing but good things to say about this place! 10/10!!! My boyfriend and I always come here whenever I come visit him. The food is beyond phenomenal, I crave it almost everyday Our server Payton was an absolute Angel and is truly such a hard worker. Thank you San Angel and staff!❤️❤️❤️

Best mexican restaurant in the town! The food was super fresh and extremely flavorful without being greasy. The price was very reasonable and the people who work there were super nice, especially the guy who served us extra chips and salsa. He was so passionate and hospitable. The menu had a lot of items to choose from. You should definitely try this place out, if you love mexican food.

Please maintain the same standards and you will surely be on top.

Finally tried San Angel for an early dinner. We were not disappointed. The restaurant itself is very nice inside, very modern with a bit of a club vibe. It was too hot to be out at there rooftop area, maybe when the weather cools down some.
They have a very nice bar, good selection of drinks.
I had the frozen mango drink, it had vodka, chamoy, tajin rim, and a mango daiquiri type of base. For $12 it was well worth it as the portion was very large, filled to the rim and delicious.
My partner had the 32oz beer, can't say much, it's beer, he enjoyed it haha.
The complimentary chips and salsa were great, the salsa was tasty, had onions and cilantro in it. Chips were large pieces and fresh.
We added a cheese dip and and had pickled jalepeno added. The cheese dip is really good, it's on the thicker side, so it doesn't go dripping off your chip.
My partner went with the steak fajita nachos, the steak was amazing, flavorful and very very tender.
I opted for the fajita taco salad with shrimp as my protein. It was good, just not super flavorful. It could have used beans and rice for sure. We will be back though.

5 stars, everything. Best Mexican food in the area! The service was great, mojitos were delicious (maybe use a tad bit more mint ?), food was FIRE. I’d highly recommend this place to anyone looking for Mexican dishes!
I got the birria bowl, my friend got the quesabirria - both were smashed ? also the ambience was a cute vibe! They have an upstairs outside bar too.

Wow, wow, WOW! San Angel is truly Athens' newest and #1 Mexican restaurant. The food is perfectly flavorful. I highly recommend the fajitas, the empanadas, anything with birria, and the drinks ?. My favorite item is the quesadilla mexicana and the pan de elote dessert. I am a Hispanic person and am proud to say I feel proud to eat at San Angel's, so much of the food tastes like home. The service is awesome as well, you can tell the servers and managers all put their best foot forward in customer sevice and hospitality! And the space is so beautiful! I'm definitely bringing my family here!!

Guau!! San Angel de verdad es el nuevo restaurante mexicano #1 de Athens! La comida está sazonada perfectamente. Recomiendo las fajitas, las empanadas , cualquier plato con birria, y las bebidas ?✨️ Mi plato preferido es la quesadilla mexicana, y para postre , el pan de elote. Soy una latina y como orgullosamente aquí en San Ángel, la comida de verdad sabe a comida casera. El servicio también es increíble y es obvio que los meseros y gerentes hacen el esfuerzo de dar lo mejor en servicio al cliente y hospitalidad.
Definitivamente voy a traer a mi familia acá!

Customer service was excellent; excellent alcoholic beverages authentic mojito. The food was authentic. finally an authentic Catina. We enjoyed the balcony, it was private and very nice. The food was delicious we had the 29.99 fajitas well worth the price and two can enjoy it fantastic! .
