I was excited to try this restaurant! When you walk in it's beautiful and the environment is enticing. The waitresses are kind and pretty and they see you quickly but unfortunately that's where the charm ended. The rice tastes like instant, it had little peas and carrots in it, maybe like adding vegetables to your rice but I'm only used to that with fried rice I've never had Spanish rice with peas and carrots? I ordered the steak and chicken fajitas and there was no flavor unwanted spicy I wanted savory it felt absolutely flat and until that day I've never had a bad fajita it's like they didn't use any spices my green peppers were probably the best part of the fajitas. The chips were good and the salsa was okay I definitely wouldn't want to take any home. The bathroom was dirty (I hate that) and my spouse had a #7 taco, burrito combo and the green sauce he requested was bland. I won't be returning.

Went today with my mom to celebrate my birthday (my bday was on Monday, the 14th but we came today because our week was busy and we had a party on Saturday) so we came here for dinner and I ordered what I always order: SJ's California Burrito. It's a about a foot long and I get mine with the grilled chicken. It is very tasty as it's filled with guacamole, rice, meat, lettuce and sour cream. It is also topped off with white queso and a tomato slice. After I ate, I was gonna use my birthday reward to pay then the server asked us who's birthday is was and we told him that we were celebrating my birthday and he came back with a Tres leches cake and really big sombrero! They sang happy birthday and we took some funny pictures. Over a good time with good food.

I recently dined at San Jose’s and had an absolutely amazing experience. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere was warm and inviting. The service was top-notch, with attentive staff always willing to assist. Alba served us and she was phenomenal! Knowledgeable and very friendly.

I ordered the shrimp platter and it was out of this world delicious. The shrimp were perfectly seasoned. The portion size was generous too! I also drank a piña colada that was delish.

Overall, I cannot recommend this restaurant enough. The food, service, and atmosphere all exceeded my expectations. I will definitely be returning in the future to try more of their delicious dishes. Five stars!

Stopped here at the new location for the first time after they finally opened!! Great ambience really like the bar set up where it’s half inside half outside. Specials are different daily
We shared a chimichanga with flavorful ground beef and it was moist and had great flavor. The rice was OK and the refried beans were some of the best we ever had.
Drinks for on point house margaritas!
I wish the salsa was chunkier and I wish the chips were homemade but other than that great evening would definitely go back

Finally, a new place opens in a spot that’s been empty forever, and it’s none other than San Jose’s Original Mexican Restaurant. Walking in, the space feels open and alive. The staff? Couldn’t be friendlier—they make you feel like they’re genuinely glad you’re there, keeping drinks full and checking in just the right amount.

Now, usually, I’m a taco person. But today, I went for the Carne Asada California Burrito. When they say it’s a foot-long, they’re not kidding. This thing was stuffed—beef tinga, Mexican rice, and beans, all wrapped up and smothered in Cheese Dip. Lettuce, sour cream, guacamole, and pico de gallo rounded it out. Big, bold, and a total flavor bomb.

My girlfriend tried the Chimichanga, and she was all about it. Picture a crispy, deep-fried tortilla loaded with beef tinga, cheese, and beans, then drenched in Cheese Dip. She said it hit the spot—crisp on the outside, packed with flavor inside.

This place is worth checking out. The food delivers, the staff knows how to take care of you, and the atmosphere has that fresh, welcoming vibe.

Checked out San Joses’ new location yesterday for lunch and had a great experience. Margarita was great, LOVED their salsa. I had the enchilada lunch special which was perfect and my boyfriend had the shredded beef chimichanga, which he loved. Sat outside and they had fans so it was very enjoyable and not too hot. We will be back!!

We had a wonderful dining experience at San Jose’s Original Mexican restaurant. The atmosphere was lively and inviting, and the service from Alba was exceptional. She was attentive, friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu.

We ordered the fajitas, which were sizzling and flavorful. The churros for dessert were a sweet and satisfying end to our meal.

Overall, we highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking for delicious Mexican cuisine. The food was top-notch, the service was excellent, and the ambiance was enjoyable. We will definitely be returning in the future.

Update(few years later 2024)new location , but same great experience. They moved to a smaller brand new location that is much nicer. Nice inside / outside bar setup with nice inside seating choices. The service was great and the food was definitely on point.
