You cannot beat the value of this place! The banquet menu set price thing is amazing, you will do well to eat everything you get, it's a lot of food. Great atmosphere and restaurant. Great staff too.

Very nice place. A friend recommended this lovely Indian restaurant, and I was impressed. Lovely large portions and good service. Reasonable prices too. I would recommend. Thank you all at the Shiplu from Shaun, visiting Bexhill on Sea

After explaining allergies they made sure to double check .

Food was authentic , warm comforting non greasy and tasted great ?
Balak Pahar ordered 12.95 delicious
Looked good too and a really generous amount loved it will definitely return.

The side dip sweet chilli was nice too. I’m really impressed.

Dined in! Absolutely dreadful. Food cold on most dishes we ordered. Shashlick not sizzling & could touch the griddle it’s served on. Had to send food back to be reheated. So bland too! Bottle beer was warm. Staff awful, so unhelpful and could not understand English. Got bill wrong. There was not an apology about the food. I would never go back!
Such a rubbish evening caused by this Indian. Very expensive to what we got! Don’t bother! Definitely would NOT recommend!!!

Your website states that you are open for lunch on Sundays . I thought I had booked
a table on line for 1-30 in the morning . Thus was not acknowledged . We turned up at 1-30pm to be told that you were not open till the evening . Even your website said you were open while we were being told you weren’t . Very unhappy as it was a birthday present ..What on earth is going on

This is the worst Indian food we’ve eaten. Not sure if they were worried about getting it out quick because of the previous bad reviews. We ordered £120 worth of food and told it would be 1.5hrs which we were fine with as long as it was actually fresh. The food turned up in about half hour but was disgusting. ONE OF THE POTS OF MINT YOGURT SAUCE HAD MOULD GROWING AND SMELT RANCID ! The popadoms were stale and the naan breads were doughy and stale too. Everything just seemed pre-made ready to go to avoid long waits.
Basic hygiene is for any restaurant to check/date their food.
Go elsewhere if you better food for a better price.
Way overpriced and such poor quality.

Pity we didn't go with our instincts and pick another restaurant.
Could just be a bad day or the wrong chef but the meal was a total disappointment.
Food showed signs of having been prepared well before being used and the meat was very dry, poppadoms were soft.
The whole meal was bland and lacked the usual tastes.
Staff were polite but seemed to just go through the motions and showed very little pride in customer service.
The whole experience was very bad and would not encourage us to return.
