REVISED 11-01-2023:
Tried this place again, same sandwich as below and it was much better than expected. Bread was glorious now. Not chewy like the first time. The roasted red peppers worked great this time. Not sure what it was about the sandwich the first time, but I had a better experience so I am raising the stars on this place.

First time ordering from here. My rating is more of a 3.5/5. I ordered the Downtown Turkey. It comes with the following items below.

Turkey, Provolone, Roasted Red Peppers, Iceberg, Onion, Oil & Red Wine Vinaigrette.

A couple of things that came to mind. The bread was good, but it was also a bit on the chewy side. Perhaps a slightly too tough for me, but that's me. Turkey was delicious, tender and juicy as expected. I thought I would enjoy the roasted red peppers, but I found they're not for me. I believe this would have been a better sandwich if I stayed away from the roasted red peppers. I didn't like the flavor they brought for me. Other than that, it was a good sandwich. I would order again and try something else next time, or the same thing without the roasted red peppers. Price is fair for downtown, and would recommend this place for someone looking for a good sandwich.

While you may THINK this is a physical location it is a very strange food pick-up locker. It is not a physical Uncle Paulie's storefront. I spent close to 10 minutes looking for the storefront until I followed an Uber Eats driver in. So be careful.

The sandwich was ok, not fantastic. The bread was first-rate, the rest not so much.

I live in Downtown Los Angeles, I just so happen to be leaving the nutrition shop one street over and notice this place. I’m always down for a good sandwich so I had to try it.

You guys know me I’m typically very hungry and had to get two sandwiches. One Paulie & peppers and a Cousin Bobby.

Both sandwiches were amazing although I have to say after two sandwiches and a lemonade(which was amazing) I was still hungry(but I also skipped breakfast).

I’ll stop in soon to try a few different sandwiches.

This is for the Echo Park location.

I see that many of the reviews on here are pretty old.

I had a terrible experience ordering online for pick up at this location. So apparently this location is a ghost kitchen among others in the building. The parking is abysmal and you have to fight with angry Uber Eats/Postmates/Delivery drivers.

I ordered 25 minutes before arriving and still had to wait 15 minutes for my food--- despite being given an estimate of 20 minutes.

The food itself was mediocre for the $30.00 spent on two sandwiches.

Unless things change here, DO NOT ORDER FROM HERE.

Go to Jersey Mike's instead. Or SubWay honestly.

One of my coworkers told me to come to this place since I like to get sandwiches for lunch. I usually get Italian sandwiches so that's what I got when I ordered here. The sandwich is a little bit more expensive than my usual spot but this place is bomb and worth the price! They use a really good sesame seed baguette and I love sesame seeds. They also use a unique kind of mozzarella that I never had before anywhere which gives the Italian sandwiches a better flavor than any other sandwich shop. I highly recommend!

14.50 bucks for this tiny sandwich. Unfortunately the bread was hard and hardly had any veggies or beef. I’ll just rather go to subway. Paulie's Beef & Peps is a thumbs down for me.

Uncle Paulie’s is a very welcome addition to DTLA. There’s a void of good deli’s in Los Angeles, especially East Coast style delis. Uncle Paulie’s hits the spot. There’s a small counter inside, and a handful of tables outside.
I had The Carol - chicken cutlet, fresh mozzarella, broccoli rabe, roasted red peppers and a balsamic glaze. I added hot peppers. It was outstanding. The sesame seed bread was crunchy on the outside, and soft inside. The chicken cutlet was crispy and warm, and seasoned perfectly. The broccoli rabe gave it added crunch and some delicious bitterness to offset the sweet of the peppers and balsamic.
Everything is fresh and made to order.
The true test will be the egg & cheese breakfast sandwich.

Sandwiches are good, but Echo Park Location (on sunset) is not a restaurant, is a dark kitchen, only for pickup or delivery with a bunch of other brands. Not the Paulie’s experience
